The assailant, a 32-year-old university student, first targeted a local woman and her daughter in their residence, fatally shooting a 39-year-old woman and wounding her 14-year-old daughter, who later succumbed to her injuries in the hospital.
After setting fire to the woman’s home, the gunman proceeded to the Rotterdam Medical Centre University Hospital. There, he forcibly entered a classroom and opened fire, resulting in the tragic death of a 43-year-old male teacher.
Law enforcement promptly arrested the suspect near the hospital, where he also ignited a fire. As of now, the motive behind these heinous acts remains unknown.

Videos circulated online, capturing the moments when police, some of them wearing white medical gowns. He guided students to evacuate as heavily armed arrest teams swiftly responded to the scenes.
One video showed a handcuffed man wearing what appeared to be combat trousers, but authorities have stated that there are currently no indications of a second shooter involved in this tragic event.
