A tragic update on the fate of Shir Georgy, a 22-year-old Canadian Israeli woman who went missing during a Hamas militant attack on a music festival in southern Israel last Saturday, has left her family devastated. Regrettably, the family has confirmed that Shir Georgy has passed away.

Michal Bouganim, Georgy’s aunt, expressed the family’s profound grief and sorrow over the loss of their beloved Shir. “It is with great sadness and a broken heart that we announce the murder of our beloved Shir,” Bouganim conveyed. The family is currently making preparations for Georgy’s funeral, which will be held in Israel tonight.

Earlier this week, Georgy’s aunt shared a video that captures a poignant moment from the ordeal. The video shows Shir Georgy and other individuals taking shelter while sitting on the floor, highlighting the harrowing circumstances they endured during the music festival ambush.

Tragically, Georgy’s death marks the fourth Canadian casualty in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. This conflict has, for an extended period, witnessed sporadic outbreaks of violence and intense tensions, taking a toll on innocent lives like that of Shir Georgy, whose memory will forever be etched in the hearts of her grieving family and loved ones.
